Zumba For A Cure

Durham Fitness and the Durham Women's Club hold fundraiser at Brewster Elementary School

and the Durham Women's Club joined forces on Tuesday, Mar. 22 to help raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

The first annual Zumba® For A Cure was held at and raised $700, according to Durham Fitness owner Kristen Kleeman.

"The event went very well. We had a great turnout, more than we expected," Kleeman said.

Sheila Garvy, an instructor at Durham Fitness, is participating in Team in Training and came up with the idea for the fundraiser.

Participants were asked to pay a minimum $10 donation, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for the deadly disease and improvimg the lives of patients and their families.
