Killingworth Lions Invite Community To Arbor Day Celebration
Festivities begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5
The Killingworth Lions will hold an Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, May 5 and the local community--especially nearby youth organizations and scouts--are encouraged to attend.

According to the press release, the celebration at Parmelee runs from noon to 2 p.m. and includes a pizza party, community/family tree planting and whole lot of fun!
Participants will plant between 45 and 50 Douglas Fir seedlings, which the release says will become a buffer between the farm and nearby homes.

“Lions clubs worldwide are committed to protecting the environment. Every small effort makes a big difference," Lions Club President Hilary Kumnick said in the release.
"That’s why we are doing our part to reach our international goal of planting a million trees by planting over 70 trees locally.”
