Update: Thomas Hennick Resigns from Board of Education

Durham resident served on Region 13 board for more than a decade, including five years as chairman.

 

Patch has learned that Thomas Hennick has resigned from the Region 13 Board of Education.

Hennick, a Durham resident who served as a member of the school board for a decade, . Last month, board members to replace Hennick as chairman, a position he'd held for five years.

"Tom has been on the board for the last 10 years and I have worked with him as chair for the last 5 years. Tom’s leadership, insight into educational issues, and ability to analyze challenges from multiple perspectives, made him a great Board chair," said Superintendent Susan Viccaro. "On both a personal and professional level, he will be missed."

Hennick is the Public Information Officer for Connecticut's Freedom of Information Commission. His resignation from the school board is effective immediately although the reason for the resignation remained unclear.
