Regional School District 13 Superintendent Susan Viccaro was honored by the Board of Education on Wednesday during her last school board meeting as head of schools in Durham and Middlefield.
"If you want to talk about many years of service and dedication to District 13 and students in this district, I think Susan is a shining example of a lifetime, really, dedicated to our two communities," said board chairman Kerrie Flanagan.
Viccaro has been with the district for 29 years, including the past nine as superintendent. Next month she'll take over as superintendent of schools in Newburyport, Mass.
