Police Identify Victim in Monday's Fatal Crash in Middlefield

Police say 27-year-old Daniel Escobar-Sanchez died after the truck he was driving slammed into a telephone pole along Route 147.

 

State police have identified a Willimantic man in Middlefield on Monday.

27-year-old Daniel Escobar-Sanchez lost control of a truck while headed east on the highway and slammed into a telephone pole. Escobar was pronounced dead shorly after the crash, police said.

Two passengers, Jesus Lizman-Gonzalez, 21, and Santo Gonzalez-Chavez, 24, both of Willimantic, were transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the three men were on their way to Durham for a construction job when the crash happened around 10:30 a.m.
