Police: Wallingford Man Facing Charges After Crash in Durham

Nicholas Pantano was speeding before he lost control of his truck along Route 68, police say.

 

A Wallingford man is facing multiple charges after crashing his truck along Route 68 in Durham earlier this month, according to police.

Police say Nicholas Pantano, 27, of 410 Williams Road, was speeding when he lost control of his 1989 Chevy Scottsdale near Skeet Club Road in Durham around 4:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Pantano was headed westbound when his truck hit a guard rail and came to rest after hitting a tree, a report says.

He refused medical treatment and was not injured, according to police.

He was charged with traveling unreasonably fast and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Two days later, at approximately 5:41 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, Wallingford police arrested Pantano on charges of carrying dangerous weapons, a felony, and sixth-degree larceny.

Court records also show that state police charged Pantano with evading reponsibility/property damage and failure to drive in the proper lane on Jan. 16.

He's due in court later this week.
