Update: Police Search for Driver Who Plowed into Mailboxes in Durham

State police say someone drove into six mailboxes and a stop sign on Haddam Quarter Road late Friday night.

State police are looking for the driver who plowed into six mailboxes and a stop sign along Haddam Quarter Road Friday night in Durham.

The destruction was discovered early Saturday morning by homeowners, said Sgt. Sal Calvo of the Connecticut State Police.

"We believe it to be one, possibly two vehicles," Calvo told Patch. When asked if the driver may have been drunk, Calvo said the investigation was ongoing.

Investigators are focusing on whether any debris from the vehicle involved was left behind at the scenes, including paint transfer, for possible leads.

No arrests have been made at this time. State police are asking anyone who may witnessed anything suspicious in area to call Troop F at 860-399-2100.

Calvo said the town's Public Works Department planned to replace damaged signs.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
