State police respond to two accidents along Route 17.

 

Friday, August 17

State police responded to a two-vehicle accident along Route 17 near Saw Mill Road around 8:18 a.m. According to a report, a vehicle driven by Danielle Springmeyer, 25, of Sandy Hook, CT, was traveling northbound when it struck another vehicle from behind. The driver of the vehicle, according to police, left the scene of the accident without exchanging information with Springmeyer. No inuries were reported. Police issued Springmeyer a warning for following too close. Police are attempting to locate the other vehicle.

Saturday, August 18

State police responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and a car along Route 17 near Oak Terrace around 6:47 p.m. According to a report, a motorist was attempting to make a left turn onto Oak Terrace when the vehicle was struck in the rear by a motorcycle. Police say Douglas Thomas, 51, of Madison and his passenger, Paula Dalia, 42, of East Haven, were ejected from the motorcycle. Both were transported to Middlese Hospital with minor injuries. Thomas was cited for driving too close.
