Update: Boat Explosion at Middlefield Industrial Park Under Investigation
Residents took to social media following a report of an explosion Saturday night. Fire officials confirm that there was a fire that broke out just before 11 p.m.

The explosion and fire that destroyed a cigarette boat at a Middlefield industrial park is under investigation by the Fire Marshal, according to State Police.
A photo taken at the scene shows extensive damage to the boat's motor area.

Middlefield firefighters responded late Saturday to a fire at the Industrial Park Road Access.

An official at the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department said that crews were dispatched at 10:50 p.m. to an active fire at a property on the road, which abuts Old Indian Trail and Cherry Hill Road.
According to multiple reports, the incident involved a boat that caught fire.
The extent of the damage is unclear at the time of this posting. Durham firefighters also responded to the scene.
