Holiday Crackdown Along Route 66 Leads to DUI Arrest

A Southington man was arrested by state police for DUI on Friday night during increased traffic patrols in the Middlefield area.

 

A Southington man was arrested by state police and charged with driving under the influence Friday night after being stopped along Route 66 in Middlefield.

Sgt. Sal Calvo said the man was the only drunk driver stopped as as part of the 4th of July crackdown.

53 drivers were ticketed for various infractions, including speeding, not wearing seatbelts and following too close.

Three drivers were charged with driving with a suspended license.
