Durham-Middlefield Police Blotter: March 14-19

The following arrest information was supplied by local and state police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, March 14

Bridget Given, 48, of Wilcox Drive, Durham, was charged with improper use of marker plate, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and insurance coverage fails minimum. According to a report, Given was stopped by Middletown Police at a motor vehicle violation checkpoint. Online court records show that Given faces similar charges in Wallingford following her arrest there on March 16.

Friday, March 15

Michael Wraight, 37, of Middletown was cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and improper passing. According to police, Wraight was traveling eastbound on Route 66 in Middlefield when he attempted to pass a vehicle traveling in the left lane but struck the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Wraight was placed at fault for the accident.

Saturday, March 16

At approximately 6:57 p.m., William Hackett, 52, of East Haven, was traveling southbound on Route 17 in Durham when he lost control of a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and collided with a utility pole just north of Fowler Avenue, according to police. Hackett was transported to Middlesex Hospital with neck and back pain, a report says. The accident remains under investigation.

Brendon T. Lynn, 23, of Long Hill Road, Middlefield, was cited for operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license and defective windshield. According to Middletown Police, Lynn was pulled over while driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Prospect Street with a cracked windshield. 

Sunday, March 17

John Nowontynski, 48, of Ross Road, Rockfall, was cited for operation of a motor vehicle when license is suspended, improper use of marker plate and violation of license classification. According to Middletown Police, Nowontynski was pulled over while driving on Laurel Grove Road at Washington Street.

Tuesday, March 19

Sean Diaz, 20, of Meriden was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to grant the right of way. According to police, Diaz was faulted for an accident along Route 66 in Middlefield when he turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle. No injuries were reported.
