Jon Brayshaw Wins Re-Election in Middlefield

There may be a recount on the Board of Finance due to very close results in the preliminary tallies.

Incumbent Jon Brayshaw won reelection for another term as the Middlefield first selectman, according to preliminary results Tuesday evening.

Brayshaw got 789 votes, beating out Democratic candidate Lucy Petrella, who got 690 votes, and independent challenger Marianne Corona, who got 140 votes.

Town Clerk Donna Golub, who provided Patch these preliminary results, said there is a possibility for a recount on the Board of Finance ticket because there was a difference of just 12 votes between two candidates, Joel Nick and Laura Williams.
