Final Voter Turnout in Middlefield: 48%

Nearly half of registered voters in town showed up on Election Day Tuesday.

A total of 1,545 registered voters in Middlefield showed up at the polls Tuesday to vote in the municipal elections.

According to the official results, there are 3,213 registered voters in town, meaning 48 percent voted.

By comparison, Durham's turnout was just over 23 percent, however that town did not have a first selectman's race in 2013.

First Selectman Jon A. Brayshaw carried the local Republican ticket to victory, beating Lucy R. Petrella 789-690. The two previously faced off in 2011 in which Brayshaw defeated Petrella by just 45 votes, according to the results.
