Election Day 2013: 15.2% Turnout in Middlefield, 8.1% in Durham

Here's where you can find out stories, polling information and other important news bits throughout Tuesday's municipal elections.

Update 12:45 a.m.

Around 1,000 people have already voted in Durham and Middlefield combined, according to polling information from 11 a.m.

Registrars in Middlefield said 15.2 percent of the town's 3,205 residents voted so far, equaling out to about 487 people. By comparison, the number was 15.8 percent at this same time (11 a.m.) during the 2011 municipal elections, said Republican Registrar Jeffrey Drenzek.

In Durham, a larger community with no first selectman's race, the turnout was around 8.1 percent, as 405 votes had been cast as of 11 a.m. There are about 5,000 voters in that town, moderators said.

Tuesday, Nov. 5 is Election Day and hundreds of residents from both Middlefield and Durham will go to the polls to vote for their preferred municipal candidates.
