Here's how the Giving Tree works:

Books are now on display and available to purchase for the Children's Room and Young Adult Collections. Parents, teens and children browse the books to determine which ones they would like to donate. The books are purchased and brought home to be wrapped and then returned during the Open House to present to Santa as a gift to the library. A bookplate will be placed inside each donated book in appreciation for the purchase.

The Giving Tree/Open House will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8.

There will also be opportunities to build graham cracker houses, listen to carolers and of course meet Santa!

If you'd like to register or have any questions call the library at 860-349-3857.
