Former Killingworth Man Dies in Skydiving Accident in Colo.

35-year-old Jeremy Worrell was killed while performing a tandem jump Sunday morning, according to authorities.

 

A former Killingworth man died Sunday from injuries he sustained in a skydiving accident in Colorado, according to a report.

35-year-old Jeremy Worrell, of Crested Butte, Colo., was taking part in a tandem skydive when authorities say his chute and an instructor's chute became tangled.

Both men hit the ground at a high rate of speed, the report says. Worrell was pronounced dead shortly after 9 a.m. at Fremont County Airport.

According to authorities, the instructor had more than 600 solo dives and 50 tandem jumps. The accident remains under investigation.

Worrell was a 1995 graduate of Haddam Killingworth High School.
