Durham Revokes Permit of Door-to-Door Salesman Following Complaints

Neighbors say man selling children's books was "pushy"

The Town of Durham revoked Daniel Burke-Aguero's peddler's permit on Thursday, after receiving numerous complaints from neighbors about Burke-Aguero's tactics in selling products door-to-door.

Burke-Aguero is employed by the Southwestern Company and has been selling children's books in Durham and Middlefield.

But neighbors in both towns have complained to police and town officials that Burke-Aguero is aggressive and pushy and often asks questions about children in the area.

In a message to residents posted on the town's website, Durham First Selectwoman Laura Francis says residents should call 911 if Burke-Aguero comes to their door and report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to police immediately.

Middlefield has also revoked Burke-Aguero's permit to sell products door-to-door around town after .
