Daily Five: Late Start, BOE Special Meeting and Home Show at the Fairgrounds

1. What's the Weather? Sunny, with a high near 52. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 32. 

2. Reminder: 2 Hour Delay All District 13 schools will be opening two hours late today for professional development for staff.

3. BOE Special Meeting The District 13 Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at Central Office. The meeting will be held in executive session as the board handles the recent announcement that Superintendent Susan Viccaro will resign on June 30. Agenda here.

4. Car Wash to Support Explorers The Durham Fire Explorers Post 422 (jr. firefighters) will hold a car wash on Saturday, April 6, at the Carolyn Adams parking lot. The Explorers work hard during the year to send a couple of their members to the CT State Fire Academy's Introduction to the Fire Service program for youths, offered each year to select 14-17 year olds. The fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A fee is charged.

5. Lyon and Billard Home Show The Durham Fairgrounds is host to several events throughout the year. This weekend we are thrilled to have the Lyon and Billard Home Show. Come down Saturday, April 6 from 9-5 and Sunday, April 7 from 9-4. This event is free to the public. Not only will you get some great ideas for your home, there will be a petting zoo, rock climbing, slides and bounce house. All free! Bring the family....
