Daily Five: Xavier Football Players Receive Championship Rings

1. What's the Weather? A chance of snow before noon, then a chance of rain and snow between noon and 3 p.m., then snow likely after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Tonight: Snow likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 28.

2. Xavier Gets Rings The Xavier Falcons football team's banquet was held on Sunday at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. The ceremony featured highlights of this year's Class LL state championship winning team, including footage of the team taken in the leadup to the team's 3-peat.

Middlefield's Tim Boyle was named co-offensive player of the year for the Falcons, sharing the award with running back DeAngelo Berry.

Boyle joined teammates Ricky Murphy of Durham, Micheal Scherer of Middlefield and Noah Palo of Durham to show off the team's championship ring (See photo).

3. Durham BOS Meets Tonight The Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7 p.m. The meeting agenda includes discussion on a variety of topics, including the Deerfield Farm lease, Bear Rock Road speed limit and an executive session on potential litigation.

4. Durham Farmers' Market The market will return to Durham's town green in May but in the meantime, the DFM has a new website. Check it out here and be sure to Like their Facebook page too!

5. Pizza, Pins and Pop Bowling Tournament There are still a few days left to sign up for After The Storm Inc.'s charity bowling event in Wallingford. The organization raises money to help Cancer survivors. The event will be held on April 7, from 2-4 p.m. More details here.
