2. Shays to Stump in Durham U.S. Senate candidate and former U.S. Congressman Christopher Shays will be in Durham on Saturday. Shays is scheduled to visit the from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. to speak with voters.
Shays will face fellow Republican Linda McMahon in the August 14 primary.
3. Art Bra on Better CT Don't miss Rockfall resident Christine Willett's appearance on WFSB's Better Connecticut this afternoon. Willett, founder of After the Storm Inc, will be previewing the non-profit's upcoming Art Bra Fashion Show and Auction at 3 p.m.

4. Got a Freshman? If you're the parent of a new high school student, mark your calendar. The first parent information session at Coginchaug High School will be held in the school's library Wednesday, Aug. 8. The session is from 8:30-10 a.m.
The second parent information session will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 from 6-7:30 p.m.
5. A Reminder for Monday The Town of Durham Public Works Department will be starting the annual Chip Sealing project Monday, August 6, 2012. The chip sealing process involves the laying of oil and stone and is expected to take approximately one week. Residents are reminded to adhere to the posted 15 mile per hour speed limit on freshly sealed roads and to use alternate routes during working hours to avoid delays.
The following roads are scheduled: Stagecoach Rd., Schoolhouse La., Coe Rd., Erika Ct., Buckboard Rd., Howard Rd., Old Farms Rd., Wagon Wheel Rd., Barbara La., Flintlock Dr., Camera Rd., Shunpike Rd., Chalker Rd., Agerola Rd., Green La., and Pine Ledge Tr.
