Daily Five: More Wind, Rain and Volunteers

1. What's the Weather? A chance of showers, mainly before 9 a.m. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 42 by 5pm. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

2. Reminder: BOE Education Retreat Tonight The Board of Education will meet tonight at Durham Town Hall to discuss the upcoming school budget, among other things. Here's the full agenda for anyone interested.

3. Volunteers Needed for Blood Drive The American Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive on Feb. 15, from 1:30-6:30 p.m. at Brewster Elementary School. Volunteers are needed for baking, cooking and for helping out during the event.

4. Free Appetizer or Dessert Speaking of blood drives, don't miss the annual CT Rugby team blood drive at the Middlefield Community Center next month. Participate and you'll receive a coupon!

5. Valentine's Day Dinner/Dance This event will benefit Cystic Fibrosis patients needing lung transplants, and their families, with expenses not covered by insurance. Click here for more details.
