The electricity has gone out again in Middlefield.

As of 8 a.m. Friday morning, 1036 Connecticut Light and Power customers had lost power according to the company's website -- nearly half of the town.

According to CL&P, the outage is the result of an "equipment issue" in the area of Powder Hill Road. 

Crews are en route to fix the problem, according to a CL&P official.

There is no estimate when power may be restored.

Windy conditions today are expected to lead to additional power outages across the state.
