WATCH: Scientists to Study Impact of Lake Beseck Drawdown

A multi-year study is being conducted by New England Environmental, Inc. and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station.

Scientists from New England Environmental, Inc. and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station have launched a long-term study of the aquatic life at Lake Beseck.

Data will be collected prior to this fall's scheduled drawdown of Lake Beseck for dam repairs, as well as after the work is complete to determine the impact of the project on the aquatic plant community.

The study is being led by Dr. Mark June Wells, a Limnologist and Plant Ecologist with New England Environmental, who spoke to Patch on Friday while collecting samples at the lake.
