Taste of Durham on the Menu This Weekend
Tickets are still available for the Feb. 2 PALS fundraiser at the Durham Public Library.
After 17 years and mouthfuls of tasty samplings, the Taste of Durham remains one of the town's most popular social events.
This year's fundraiser, which once again features a unique mix of restaurants and caterers from Durham, Middlefield and Middletown, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 6:30-9 p.m at the Durham Public Library.

Tickets for the event can be purchased for $30 (per person) at the library. The ticket includes the all-you-can-eat buffet of food, 3 beer or wine tickets and musical entertainment by Deep Ellum and pianist Bruce Schmottlach.
Taste of Durham is hosted by PALS (Public Association of Library Supporters) and raises money to fund a variety of library needs including museum and state park passes, the summer reading program and recently, a new website.

"It's just the extras that the town budget doesn't pay for," said event organizer and PALS member Jane Eriksen.
This year's event will be without longtime PALS supporter and Taste of Durham chairwoman Laurie Stevens, who passed away last year.
"Of all of the fundraising events, it was Laurie's favorite," said Eriksen.
"She's certainly very much in our thoughts as we do it this year," added PALS member Pat Murawski.
Parking for the event will be available at Strong School and a shuttle will run continuously starting at 6 p.m.
