Lyman Orchards to Donate $42K to American Cancer Society

Lyman Orchards executive vice president John Lyman III will present a check for $42,255 to the American Cancer Society at a ceremony on the deck of the Apple Barrel market at Lyman Orchards today.

The total amount raised is a direct result of last fall’s Yankees vs. Red Sox Corn Maze. Lyman Orchards donates $1 from every maze visitor to the fund.

The ceremony marks the 13th anniversary of the partnership between Lyman Orchards and the American Cancer Society. To date, the maze has raised a grand total of $392,299.

In addition to the American Cancer Society, the Corn Maze also helps raise funds for other local organizations and charities, including the Coginchaug High School French Honor Society, Sheehan High School Music Department, Middletown High School DECA program, Maloney High School Key Club, Middlesex Hospital Community Council and many others.
