Meet at the Beseck beach pavilion, Middlefield at 8:00 A.M. to register for an educational lake bed tour with Limnologist & Plant Ecologist, Mark June-Wells, Ph.D.  Mark will teach participants about invasive aquatic plants, learn what a turion is and Curlyleaf pondweed reproduction, learn what studies have been going on at the lake.  Educational photo boards will be on display in the lake bed.

Due to a significant lake drawdown, the program will provide a rare opportunity for participants to be a part of a crucial environmental activity that will prevent thousands of new invasive plants from growing.

Bring a leaf rake for cleanup of turions of the invasive Potamogeton crispus (Curlyleaf Pondweed) plant – perfect for students in need of community service hours.

BRING:  Boots, gloves and a leaf rake!
