Summer Fitness, Camps and Fun!

Word has it Middlefield Park and Rec has it going on!

Ok...so if you're like me, you've been thinking about that spare tire left over from the winter, or possibly you've been pondering local activities for your children as summer approaches?  And, opt for something affordable! 

 Middlefield Park & Rec has a nice variety of options to get your summer off to a great start!  Check out some of their exciting activities that you can sign up for:

Boot Camp on Mon-Wed-Fri at 5:30a and 9:30a. $5 per class.

Workouts consist of a warm up, calisthenics, stretching and more.  When the weather warms up they take the program outdoors.  Be sure to wear comfy clothes, grab a water bottle and join the fun!

Ukulele Club – Meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00-11:00a at the Middlefield Community Center.

This program is open to all, whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years, this warm and fun loving group will suck you right in.  Give my friend, "Cindy-Lu" a call at 860-349-5656.

Men's Open Basketball -Monday’s at 6:30p, Memorial School Gym.

Summer Camp runs July 5-Aug 12 for ages entering K-8th grade from 9a-4p.

6wks-$395, 2wks-$225, 1wk-$150

Middlefield Park and Recreation Summer Camp is getting ready for another exciting year!  They will be meeting at Memorial School this summer, so rain and summer heat are not a problem. Trips will be available on an optional basis.  Early drop off will be available at 8:00a for $8 per day.

Trips they are currently planning:

Lake Compounce, Amusement Park, Destinta Movie Theater, Bowling and Expanded Theme Day Programs.

 CIT Camp- Counselor In Training July 5-22 & July 25-Aug 12 $175 per session or $300 for both.  (trips are additional)

CIT’s will assist with the running of the camp, but will also do things on their own. Special CIT only trips will be planned. CIT’s will also be able to go on regular camp trips. The CIT Program is open to children who will be entering high school as freshman or sophomores in the Fall.

Tennis Camp- July 18-22 & Aug. 15-19, ages 5-16 at Memorial School Courts $55 per session.

Sportime with Alex Edwards-July 11-15 & Aug. 8-12, ages 5-12 at Peckham Park $55 per session.

The focus of this sports camp is on building self-esteem, confidence and learning about competition as well as developing physical skills in a variety of sports activities.  Some of the activities are: basketball, floor hockey, team handball, indoor soccer, throwing and dodging games plus more. 

Soccer Camp with Geoff Wheeler-July 25-July 29 at Peckham Park $110 per session.

Other programs in the works…

Skateboard Camp, Beginner’s Lacrosse, Football Basics, Swim Lessons.

Other fun stuff in the works…

Concerts, Community Luau, Bass fishing tournament on Lake Beseck, Root Beer Floats at Middlefield Old Home Days.
