Coginchaug Little League all-star Ryan Genest followed up a three-run home run by teammate A.J. Kleczkowski with a three-run home run of his own in the second inning of Friday's 10-2 win over Haddam in Game 1 of the best-of-three District 9 championship series.
The home run, Genest's first, gave Coginchaug a 6-1 lead.
