Rockfall Man Runs Out of Gas, Gets Arrested in Middletown

Police say Bret G. Plucinski, 52, was driving without a license, registration or insurance and was found with a ziplock bag full of medication.

A local man was arrested by police twice last month for operating a car without a license, insurance or registration.

Bret G. Plucinski of 2 Woodland Heights, Rockfall, was stopped by Middletown Police around 9:45 a.m. on June 26 after he was seen pushing a Buick sedan on Newfield Street, according to a police report.

The 52-year-old told police the car ran out of gas. But during a routine check, police discovered that the license plate on the vehicle was actually registered to a Volkswagen Jetta.

Police also discovered that Plucinski was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to show up to court following his arrest in January on similar charges.

He was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, driving when license is suspended, improper use of marker plate and insurance coverage fails minimum.

In addition, police charged Plucinski with failing to keep narcotics in their original container after they found a small ziplock bag with several different types of medication in it on him.

Plucinski told police he takes more than 30 pills a day, including morphine, muscle relaxers and anti-anxiety due to severe back and knee pain, according to the report.

Court records show that Plucinski was arrested by Watertown police a month ago on similar motor vehicle charges.
