Police: Men Arrested After Fighting Over Wife

Two men were arrested at a Rockfall apartment last week after getting into a altercation over one of the men's wife, according to police.

Roy M. Neumann, 52, of unknown address and Colin Maroney, 47, of 207 Main Street, Rockfall, were both charged with breach of peace. Neumann was also charged with interfering with an officer.

According to a report, police received a 911 call from Maroney's apartment on March 25 indicating that the two men were fighting and "were going to kill each other." When police arrived at the address, five people — including Neumann and Maroney — were found to be heavily intoxicated, the report says.

Maroney told police that he went after Neumann because he was sleeping with his wife and the two had started to touch each other on the coach in front of him, the report says. The pair were separated by residents of the apartment.

During the initial investigation, Neumann was asked to remain outside of the apartment until a second police unit could arrive but ran nto some nearby woods. A police K-9 eventually tracked Neumann down about a quarter mile into the woods, according to the report.

He remained agitated and uncooperative, police said.

Neumann's bond was set at $2,500. He's due in court April 9.

Maroney was arrested in February and charged with third degree assault on a disabled person, second degree threatening and disorderly conduct following a disturbance at his apartment.

He was charged in 2011 with risk of injury to a child.
