Daily Five: Justin Moore to Headline Friday Night at the Durham Fair

Five things to know for Tuesday, April 9 2013.

1. What's the Weather? Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 73. Tonight: Scattered showers overnight with a low around 49.

2. Justin Moore To Play Durham Fair On Monday night, the Durham Fair Association announced that rising country music star Justin Moore will perform on the Main Stage on Friday, Sept. 27.

Moore, who recently turned 29, has released two gold-selling albums, which include the number one hits "Small Town USA", "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away", and "Til My Last Day." He's currently working on his third studio album.

The Durham Fair Association said on Twitter that Saturday's headliner will be announced soon.

3. Public Hearing Tonight on 19.67 Acres The Middlefield Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing tonight at 7 p.m. at the Community Center on an offer from resident Lori Vogel-Brown to purchase the 19.67 acre property next to Powder Ridge ski area. Selectmen have agreed to sell the land for $300,000 but the offer requires public approval.

4. Jazz in the Firehouse The Durham Democratic Town Committee Spring Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 20 at p.m. at the Durham Firehouse, 41 Main Street. The event includes live jazz music from local high school musicians. The menu includes homemade chilli, as well as mac & cheese, salads, corn breads and various desserts. The bar will have wine, beer and soda.
