My penname on various accounting blogs is the "Barefoot Accountant".  I acquired that name because of operating my business out of my home in an attempt to minimize my overhead, providing certified public accounting services at a fraction of the cost of other public accounting firms in the area, in addition to the fact that while working at home I often go barefoot.  (I wear shoes in public.)
