Soccer for Sandy Hook

Monroe soccer tournament raises money for Sandy Hook Families.

On Thursday night, a few players from Coginchaug and one from Colchester joined 5 other high school and premier level teams to raise money for the Sandy Hook Memorial Fund. CRHS Coach Chris Cap forwarded the flyer and the kids jumped at the chance.

The boys had a lot of fun and played well against a very high level of competition.  Above all, they felt a mix of sympathy, compassion and pride that they were able to give something back to the community that lost so much in the tragedy that hit so close to home.

I would suggest to parents to donate a book to the classroom or school library in their child's nameRead More to celebrate the child's birthday, or other significant event, instead of sending in cupcakes or other sweets.
