Video & Photos: Girl Scouts 'Fill A Truck' for Troops

Scouts from Haddam and Killingworth sell cookies to send to soldiers

Girl Scouts from Killingworth (troop 62311) and Haddam (troop 60529) filled a truck with 195 boxes of Girl Scout cookies on Saturday, Mar. 19 at the . The cookies will be sent to U.S. troops serving overseas.

So far this year HK troops have collected a total of 221 boxes for soldiers.

"It was wonderful to see them interact with some of the veterans that stopped by to donate and share some of their stories.  Many veterans mentioned getting cookies while serving and remembering how it cheered them up to have a taste of home," Troop Leader Robin Duffield said.

In addition, the Girl Scouts sold 197 boxes of cookies and raised $330.20 for future trips and activities.
