Perk on Main to Hold Appetite for Life Fundraiser Tonight

Restaurant rounds out month-long fundraising effort for Middlesex Hospital.

The crepes, coffee and cold smoothies on the menu at Perk on Main will be extra tasty Thursday night. No, the recipes haven't changed. The Chicken Ranch Crepes and Caramel Perkuccinos are just as delicious as ever, but tonight, a portion of the proceeds of every scrumptious item purchased will be donated to this year's Appetite for Life Fundraiser.

This is Perk's second year participating in Appetite for Life, 2010 being the fundraiser's inception. Owner and operator Katie Hughes said that last year's event "wasn't that great," but is hopeful for a better turnout this year.

"We're actually having two simultaneous fundraisers," said Hughes. "Raise the Roof is for a really depressed city in Mexico, there's going to be a silent auction for that and ten percent from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. will go to her organization. And simultaneously we have Appetite for Life. We're going to do the same, an additional ten percent of sales go to Appetite for Life."
