Durham Teen Shaves Head for Charity

Mercy sophomore Flannery Keenan cut off her hair to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation.

On March 31, Flannery Keenan of Durham shaved her head to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation, a charity that funds research for childhood cancer.

Flannery has raised nearly $2,000 in team and individual contributions and donated some of her hair to Locks of Love, a charity that helps children who suffer hair loss due to illness.

A member of South Fire District's St. Baldrick's team, Flannery is also an honors student at .
