Here's Mud in Your Eye: Volleyball Tourney Supports Epilepsy Research for 26th Year

Hundreds of athletic and philanthropic people gathered Saturday at Zoar's Pond in Middletown ankle-deep in a sloggy brown mud pit to face off, team by team, for charity.

An overnight downpour, rainy morning and perfectly dreary skies were a dream combination for the hundreds of people who duct taped old sneaks to their feet and rallied to support the  26th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament.

Team names ranged from the tame — Splat & Whitney, We Play Dirty, Carpe Diem, Ridin Muddy, Mudiators, Vicious & Delicious, Nerdy & Dirty; Elmer Mudds, Love That Dirty Water — to the R-rated — Mudder Stuckers, Unprotected Sets, Muddy Fockers, Grannie Panties, Angeli Lawn Car Bush Trimmers, Thunda Frumunda, Muddy Sweaty Balls, Bazzingas, Bad Mudda Suckers, 6 Jerks and 2 Squirts.
