Public Safety Day at the Durham Farmers' Market

Safety for people an animals, with special guests from the Durham Volunteer Fire Dept. and DART.

Join us this week in welcoming two of our favorite Durham Safety Groups - The Durham Volunteer Fire Department and D.A.R.T (Durham Animal Rescue Team).

The Durham Volunteer Fire Department will be selling reflective house numbers - you may have seen them around town.  Highly reflective white numbers on a blue background are a highly effective way for emergency crews to immediately spot your house when called to an emergency.  This makes their response time faster, which could be the difference between life and death in some circumstances.  It can also be tricky on our country roads with the houses set back off the road to find just the right house in the dark.

Durham Animal Rescue Team will be on hand, as well, selling their animal first aid kits.  They will also have information about their organization available, and will gladly accept donations of used animal crates and cat carriers.
