Scenes from the BETTER CHOICE 2011 "Olde Time Pig Roast"

Highlights of the October 15 BETTER CHOICE 2011 "Olde Time Pig Roast" fund raiser

The Better Choice 2011 “Olde Time Pig Roast” fund raiser was a phenomenal success.  Over seventy people attended the event to enjoy good food, good music, and good friendship.  Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike came together to enjoy one of autumn’s final get togethers, and to express their joint belief that it is, in fact. “Time for a change”.

The event was held October 15 on Madison Hollow road in Killingworth.  Live music consisting of “Olde Time” songs and musical accompaniment was provided, which added its own special flavor to the event.  One of the highlights of the event was the awarding of the door prize and raffle prizes, ranging from high tech electronics to fine wines and liqueurs to gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses.

All of the Better Choice 2011 candidates (candidate profiles can be seen on the committee’s web site at www.BetterChoice2011.com) were in attendance, and in addition, several local dignitaries showed up to express their support.  Daria Novak, Republican candidate for Connecticut’s 2nd district, delegate to the 1976 Republican National Convention, and a teacher for seminars in National Security Studies, Chinese Politics, and International Relations and American Politics, was on hand to listen to the concerns of her constituents, as well as local PGA golf professional Jon Wilson, PGA Class A member and former Assistant Golf Coach and Professional for Yale University, to share a secret or two of the golfing greats with the attendees.  A shuttle service was provided for attendees with physical disabilities.

Our hats are off to all those who supported this event:
