From the candidates of the BETTER CHOICE 2011 Committee: "The Time For Change is Now"

The candidates of the bipartisan BETTER CHOICE 2011 committee ask for your support in the Killingworth primary, Tuesday, September 13th

The members of the bipartisan Better Choice 2011 committee would like to remind everyone of the upcoming Killingworth primary, which will be held this Tuesday, September 13th, at the Killingworth Elementary School, from 6:00 am to 8:00pm.

Although we would like to ask the residents of Killingworth to support our candidates in the upcoming primary, instead, we would simply like the residents of Killingworth to ask themselves this:  Are they satisfied with the way things are now?  Are they content with the recent property tax increase when so many people are struggling to make ends meet?  Are they concerned that town government is making critical financial decisions without their approval?  Do they believe our town leaders are justified in approving themselves raises during strenuous economic times?  Most importantly, we would like the residents of Killingworth to ask themselves this: Isn't it time for a change?

Throughout the last few weeks, to answer that question, we have “laid our cards on the table” for the good people of Killingworth to see.  We have shown how our candidates intend to bring positive change to our town, from reviewing ways to make town government more responsive to the needs of the people of Killingworth, to our intentions to employ previously overlooked ways to roll back the recent property tax increase, to the recognition and respect of the rights of the taxpayers of Killingworth, to making sure compassion goes hand in hand with firmness in the office of tax collector, to even exploring how our school systems may become resource partners for the benefit of our students as well as the town. In addition, we have shown how our candidates are eager to bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to our political parties that have offered few answers of their own on how to reinvigorate the obsolete model of government that continues to lay unnecessary financial burdens upon the backs of the people of Killingworth.

We now ask the good people of our town to review our vision for Killingworth, and compare them with the vision of other campaigning candidates, so that they may decide for themselves who is, in fact, the “Better Choice” for 2011.

Our candidates are:

-Steve Hollander (D) for First Selectman
-David Miller (R) for Tax Collector
-David Adametz (R) and John Samperi (R) for Board of Finance
-Merrill Chapman (R) for Town Treasurer
-Richard Ross (R) and John Edwards (R) for Planning & Zoning
-Robert Abrams (R) and Cindy Adametz (R) for Zoning Board of Appeals
-Daniel Samperi (R) for Fire Commissioner
-Gerald Lucas (R) for Board of Assessment Appeals

Your support at the Killingworth primary, Tuesday, September 13th from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Killingworth Elementary School is needed, because one thing is certain; it is, most definitely, time for a change.
