BETTER CHOICE 2011 DAVID MILLER WINS AT RECOUNT

BETTER CHOICE 2011 winning candidate David Miller expresses his thanks and his continued support for the BETTER CHOICE 2011 platform

Following his stunning victory at the Primary on Tuesday, Sept 13th, over the Republican Town Committee endorsed Candidate Jerry Baron, Better Choice 2011 winner David Miller was victorious again Monday at the required recount for the Tax Collector position.

David Miller said he is humbled by the well wishes he has received since the election.

“This is my first entry into public service where you have to ask people to vote for you", Mr. Miller said, "and after a nervous start, I really enjoyed doing it and met some great people.

"The residents of Killingworth are angry at Town Hall.  We heard five complaints over and over again-

(1) The $1.5 million unnecessary tax increase,
(2) The 3 % raise the First Selectman received and voted for enthusiastically at the meeting.
(3) The Medical Premium buyout worth around $15,000.
(4) The $2.5 million dollar new town hall
(5) and the First Selectman’s initiative to have Killingworth join a new Health District.

"I heard these five complaints over and over again, from door to door.

"Although, technically I am the Republican Town Committee endorsed candidate for Tax Collector, I intend to remain tied financially to the BETTER CHOICE 2011 Political Action Committee and I certainly support and will vote for the entire BETTER CHOICE 2011 team.  They are dedicated to positive change in Killingworth."
