As some of you may know from either personally knowing me or reading my previous blogs, I race from a wheelchair.
Last night, I participated in my 13th race in the last three years (the 3rd this year), the Rentschler Airfield 5K.
I've talked about how the races are important to me but last night's race was especially important, because it raised money for the Brian A. Aselton Memorial Scholarship Fund.
331 runners (and wheelers :-) ) set out on a 3.1 mile race around the Cabella's parking lot and down one of the runways. A lot of money was raised for a great cause.
I finished the race in an o-k time of 34:05 and was 249th out of 331.
I should note, FOX CT featured me in a news story. You can watch it on their website.
