Photos: Coginchaug Falls Short in Upset Bid of Cromwell, 39-34

The Blue Devils gave the undefeated Panthers all they could handle in Thursday night's Shoreline Conference semifinal matchup in Durham.

 

Coginchaug junior guard Kim Romanoff scored a game-high 20 points on Thursday but the Blue Devils fell to No. 1 seed Cromwell in the Shoreline Conference semifinal game 39-34.

The Blue Devils held SCL Player of the Year Janelle Harrison to just seven points and gave the undefeated Panthers one of their toughest games all season. The score was 14-14 at halftime.

“The girls gave everything they had. This game was very important to them. They played well as a team tonight. They knew what they had to do to win," Coginchaug coach Rett Mancinelli told the Middletown Press after the loss.

Cromwell will play Morgan tonight for the Shoreline Conference championship while Coginchaug awaits seeding for the state tournament.

Prior to the game it was announced that Romanoff earned All-SCL Honorable Mention.
