Middlefield's Boyle Leads National Guard Team to Win in Football All-Star Game

The Hall of Fame Classic Military Bowl, played Saturday, was a showcase for the state's best high school senior football players.

Former Xavier of Middletown quarterback Tim Boyle of Middlefield was the star of the show on Saturday in the first Hall of Fame Classic Military Bowl at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, leading the National Guard team to a 15-14 victory with two touchdowns, according to a story in the Hartford Courant.

The summer football game, which was organized by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association, included some of Connecticut's top high school football seniors from this past season.

Boyle was joined on the National Guard team by his Xavier teammates Zach Creeron (offensive/defensive lineman), Max Schumann (offensive/defensive lineman), Jonah Dorsey (offensive/defensive lineman), Chris Luster (wide receiver/defensive back) and Max Tylki (linebacker). Xavier's head coach, Sean Marinan, was an assistant coach on the squad, as was Xavier assistant coach Andy Guyon.

Xavier's Kevin Dean (offensive lineman) and Miguel Santos (defensive lineman) played for the Marines team.

Linebacker Ian Auger, who played for the Marines team, was Coginchaug's sole representative.
