Local Runners Lead Pack at Lions Road Race

Chris Schulten of Middlefield was the first runner to cross the finish line in Saturday's East Haddam Lions Club April Fools 10.5 mile race.

More than two hundred runners laced up their running sneakers on Saturday to participate in the 13th Annual East Haddam Lions Club April Fools 5K & 10.5 Mile Race.

Middlefield's Chris Schulten finished the 10.5 mile race in first place with a time of 1:04:54 - a nearly three-minute edge over second place finisher Mark Paparella of Colchester.

Kyle Reiss of Durham finished the 10.5 mile race in fourth place, crossing the finish line at 1:09:20.
