The Birds of Parmelee Farm

Join Naturalist John Himmelman on a bird walk along the grounds of  this 131 acre park in Killingworth, CT. This is the first in a series of seasonal walks exploring the wildlife – birds, plants, insects – of Parmelee Farm. Woodpeckers, sparrows, and hawks are among the winter avian residents expected to be found. This is a beautiful area with open fields, thickets, streams, conifer and deciduous forests. It's a nice winter walk, even if the birds don't cooperate!

Cancelled if raining, or if there is heavy snow. Check  www.KillingworthToday.com or www.johnhimmelman.com for trip status. Bring binoculars if you have them.

The walk will be at the pace of an easy amble. Any questions, email jhimmel@comcast.net or call (860)663-3225. Everyone attending will receive a list of birds found – so far – at the park. While it is not necessary, an email (or phone call) with your intention to attend would be appreciated. Free, and open to the public.
