Photos: Coginchaug Little League All-Stars Beat Portland 10-0

Hunter Jameson leads team into semifinals with strong performance on the mound and at the plate.

 

Hunter Jameson gave up just two hits and struck out eight batters on Sunday to lead the Coginchaug Little League All-Stars to a 10-0 win over Portland in the Division 9 semifinal matchup in Haddam.

Jameson also went 2 for 2 at the plate and scored three runs to help his team advance to the Division 9 quarterfinal game Tuesday in Guilford.

Coginchaug scored five runs in the first inning off J. Bordonaro, including a two-run bases loaded single by Ben Murphy. Coginchaug added four more runs in the fourth inning before Aidan Doyle's RBI double forced the mercy rule.

Coginchaug has now outscored its opponents 62-10 in the tournament. With two more victories the team will advance to the state tournament in Bristol.
