Coginchaug Football Season Opener Saturday

Blue Devils kick-off 2011 season at new field.

The Coginchaug football team is going strong getting ready for the upcoming season. The Blue Devils have had two scrimmages against Class LL teams with great results.

On Friday, Sept. 9, the Blue Devils played an exciting scrimmage against Lyman Hall in Wallingford. It was a close game, with Trojans edging the Blue Devils 33-30.

Alec Corazzini scored two touchdowns. Sean Harper and Zev Kartigater also scored touchdowns and Sam Baker kicked a 25 yard field goal.

There were some outstanding performances by underclassmen including Tyler Meeker, Ryan Bogen and Jack Granger.

Don't miss the Blue Devils' opening game, which is being played at home at Coginchaug High School on Saturday, September 17 at 1 p.m.

Come out and support the Blue Devils as they take on Nonnewaug. Junior Varsity's first game is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. at Nonnewaug. Freshman have their first game at home on Thursday, Sept. 15 against Middletown at 3:30 p.m.
