Coginchaug Football Beats Cromwell 35-6 in Thanksgiving Day Game

The Blue Devils will now go on to face Ansonia in the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The Coginchaug High School Blue Devils cruised to victory during the Thanksgiving Day match up against Cromwell, beating the team 35-6.

According to 21 Century Media's GameTimeCT website, Coginchaug will now go on to the playoffs, facing Ansonia on Tuesday. Ansonia had beaten Naugatuck High School during its rivalry game on Thanksgiving as well.

Coginchaug Coach John Bozzi told the site, “We’ve been in the playoffs for the last eight weeks because we knew if we wanted to go we couldn’t lose. So next week will be our ninth playoff game.”

Coginchaug is 9-2 this season.
