Blue Devils to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

The Coginchaug girls' and boys' basketball teams, along with the cheerleading squad, will be wearing pink on Thursday and Friday in support of breast cancer awareness.

The Coginchaug girls' and boys' basketball teams will be sporting pink socks when they take the court against Cromwell tonight and Friday night to show their support for local resident Stacie Markoski.

Markowski was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and the teams are hoping to raise awareness in her honor.

In addition, the Coginchaug cheerleaders will be selling pink cupcakes to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The girls' team plays Cromwell tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a matchup of top Shoreline Conference teams.

The boys' team is scheduled to play Cromwell Friday night, which is also family night, although the impending storm could postpone the game until Saturday.

Stacie's son, Alex, is a member of the Blue Devils varsity team.

Show your support by attending one of these games and enjoy the Blue Devils basketball teams in action!
